Amazon made more advertising and seller platform changes in 2026 than any year prior. From auto-enrolling every Sponsored Products campaign in new placements to launching AI agents and free multichannel selling tools, the pace of change on Amazon is accelerating heading into Q4. This page tracks every Amazon advertising update, seller tools change, and platform shift in 2026 that directly affects ecommerce brands. Updated weekly.
This is a running log of every Amazon advertising update, seller policy change, and platform feature launch in 2026 that ecommerce brands need to act on. If you sell on Amazon or run Amazon Sponsored Products or DSP campaigns, bookmark this page. We add new entries as Amazon rolls changes out, with a link to the full standalone post for each update.
The four changes with the most direct impact on ecommerce advertisers and sellers:
August 10: Amazon auto-enrolled every active Sponsored Products campaign in Influencer Placements without advertiser action. Brands needed to review placement settings and opt out of influencer inventory if their creative or brand guidelines were not appropriate for that context. Full breakdown here.
September 10: Amazon and OpenAI launched a managed-service pilot to place Amazon DSP ads inside ChatGPT. Ads appear as text and image units beneath organic ChatGPT responses. Product feed ads auto-generate from Amazon catalogs. CPC and CPM pricing available. US-only at launch. ChatGPT ads running at a $1 billion annualized revenue run rate, with 163% growth in ads per user per hour on mobile between April and August 2026. Full breakdown here.
September 24: Amazon launched a native Claude AI plugin inside Seller Central. The plugin allows sellers to analyze campaigns, optimize listings, and get inventory recommendations using plain-language prompts without leaving Seller Central. Available to all US sellers with Seller Central access. Full breakdown here.
September 24: Amazon launched free multichannel selling tools in Seller Central, connecting eBay, Shopify, TikTok Shop, and Walmart into one unified order and listing management dashboard. More than 95% of independent Amazon sellers already sell across multiple channels. The rollout is gradual, starting with US sellers at no additional cost. Future additions include single-edit listing updates across all connected channels and AI-generated listings for external platforms. Full breakdown here.

The Sponsored Products Influencer Placement auto-enrollment (August) requires immediate review of your placement settings, since Amazon added it without advertiser opt-in. The multichannel selling tools and Claude AI Plugin require proactive setup to unlock the benefit, but do not create a risk if you delay.
At launch, the ChatGPT ads integration is a managed-service pilot available to Amazon DSP advertisers. It is not self-serve and is not available to all sellers. Contact your Amazon Ads account representative to ask about eligibility. The pilot started with US placements and product feed auto-generation from existing Amazon catalogs.
The multichannel selling tools themselves are free. There is no additional platform fee to use the unified dashboard for Shopify, TikTok Shop, eBay, and Walmart management. Standard Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF) fees apply if you use Amazon's logistics network to fulfill external channel orders.
