On October 15, 2026, Shopify raised plan pricing for U.S. merchants. The Grow plan increased by $10 per month (13%), rising from $95 to $105 monthly, or $79 per month billed annually. The Advanced plan increased by $60 per month (20%), now $399 monthly or $299 per month billed annually. For ecommerce brands currently on either plan, this means a direct increase in platform operating costs hitting on your next billing cycle, with no new features bundled into the price change.
The new pricing applies immediately for new subscribers and on the next billing date for existing merchants. For a brand on the Advanced plan billed monthly, this translates to $720 more per year for the same platform capabilities. For brands nearing the point where Shopify Plus begins to make financial sense, the October 2026 increase narrows the cost gap significantly and makes a direct comparison with Plus pricing urgent before BFCM.
Shopify has raised middle-tier plan prices consistently since 2022, shifting from transaction-fee revenue toward SaaS pricing on Grow and Advanced tiers. The October 2026 increases follow that same pattern, targeting the plans where 7-figure and 8-figure ecommerce brands cluster, while leaving Shopify Plus unchanged at $2,300 per month. The timing, right before Black Friday and Cyber Monday, is unusual. Brands that review their plan now can avoid locking into higher costs for another full billing cycle during the most profitable month of the year.
| Plan | Old Monthly | New Monthly | Annual (New) | Increase |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Grow | $95 | $105 | $79/mo | +$10/mo (+13%) |
| Advanced | $339 | $399 | $299/mo | +$60/mo (+20%) |
| Plus | $2,300 | $2,300 | $2,300/mo | No change |
The Advanced plan now costs $4,788 per year on monthly billing ($3,588 annually). Shopify Plus starts at $2,300 per month ($27,600 per year). The economics of Plus improve once you factor in transaction fees: Advanced charges 0.2% on every sale processed through a third-party payment gateway. At $2 million in monthly revenue, that transaction fee costs $4,000 per month, meaning Plus would save $1,700 per month at that volume. If your brand processes above $1.5 million monthly through non-Shopify Payments gateways, run the break-even comparison before your next billing date. Our Shopify 2026 update tracker has every platform change this year.
The Grow plan ($105/month) supports 5 staff accounts, 5 inventory locations, 1.0% third-party transaction fees, and standard reporting. Advanced ($399/month) adds 15 staff accounts, 8 inventory locations, 0.2% transaction fees, the custom report builder, and market-specific international pricing controls. For brands scaling past 5 locations or needing custom analytics heading into Q4, Advanced remains the correct tier. For brands comfortably on Grow and planning to stay there, the simplest optimization is to switch to annual billing: $79 per month instead of $105 saves $312 per year and locks in today's rate.
