On September 23, 2026, Meta announced that its Muse AI agent is now integrated into its new AI glasses lineup, enabling hands-free visual product discovery and one-voice-command purchasing across every Shopify store. For ecommerce brands running on Shopify, this means your entire catalog is now accessible through a wearable commerce channel with new hardware already shipping, including the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 available now for $449, and more than 100 styles planned by end of 2026.
Any Shopify store is automatically discoverable through Muse. When a consumer wearing Meta AI glasses sees a product in the physical world, they can ask Muse to find and purchase it, all hands-free, via Shop Pay. The checkout happens without a screen or browser. Friction between product discovery and purchase is now measured in seconds, not clicks.

Meta launched Muse on September 8, 2026, as a personal AI agent capable of browsing the web, comparing products, and completing purchases autonomously on behalf of users. On September 21, Shopify CEO Tobi Lutke confirmed that Muse users could shop and check out across all Shopify stores using Shop Pay. Then, at Meta Connect 2026 on September 23, Meta revealed Muse's integration into its entire AI glasses lineup, adding a physical-world product discovery layer the September 8 launch did not include.
The glasses are not a future product. They are shipping now:
Meta plans more than 100 styles across Ray-Ban, Oakley, and Meta Glasses brands by end of 2026. This is not a niche hardware experiment. It is a scaled distribution channel for a new form of commerce.
"We want to offer an easy and delightful way to shop and check out with Muse." Tobi Lutke, Shopify CEO, September 21, 2026
A consumer wearing Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 glasses walks by a store window, spots a jacket, and says, "Muse, buy me something like this." Muse uses visual identification capabilities to recognize the product style, searches Shopify's catalog for matching items, surfaces the top options, and completes the purchase with Shop Pay. The user confirms with their voice. The order is placed.
The hardware is shipping and Muse has direct Shopify integration confirmed at Connect 2026. Major retail integrations confirmed at the event include Walmart, Best Buy, Gap, Sephora, Ulta, Wayfair, Michael Kors, American Eagle, Dick's Sporting Goods, and Fanatics. Amazon blocked Muse from its platform, citing data security concerns. That creates a real advantage for Shopify brands heading into Q4.
Amazon blocked Muse. Shopify said yes. Every Shopify brand just gained a commerce channel Amazon-only sellers cannot touch.
The Ray-Ban Meta Audio glasses ship October 13. The Meta Adventurer ships October 23. Black Friday is November 27. Millions of consumers will begin using Muse-enabled glasses during the most important shopping window of the year. Brands whose Shopify catalogs are not optimized for AI agent discovery before then will miss the first wave of this channel.
Meta's revenue model from Muse is transaction fees, not advertising. Muse does not share shopping conversations or purchase data with Meta's ad platform. The incentive for Meta is to match consumers with the right product quickly. Your product title, description, and image quality are the functional equivalent of ad creative in this new channel.
