On September 21, 2026, Google announced the Multi-Source Conversions beta, a new feature that lets offline data uploads fill in missing user information inside tag-based conversion events. For ecommerce brands running Smart Bidding campaigns, this means enhanced conversions can now match more purchases to ad clicks by pulling email addresses, phone numbers, and finalized cart totals from your CRM when your Google tag fires without capturing that complete user data at checkout.
When your Google tag fires on a purchase confirmation page but fails to capture the buyer's email or phone number, this feature allows a CRM offline upload to retroactively enrich that conversion event with the missing data and improve enhanced conversion matching. More complete conversion events give Smart Bidding more accurate signal, which directly improves the reliability of tROAS and tCPA bid strategies. Brands connecting CRM data to Google Data Manager have already seen an average 26 percent incremental ROAS lift, and this beta extends that improvement to the individual conversion events your tags are currently dropping.
Google's tag-based conversion tracking has a consistent blind spot: when users complete a purchase but have browser restrictions, consent limitations, or do not trigger the full data payload, the tag may record the conversion event without capturing any identifying user information like email or phone. Those conversions still appear in your reports, but they cannot be matched back to the user for enhanced conversion purposes, leaving Smart Bidding without the signal it needs to optimize future bids.
The Multi-Source Conversions beta addresses this directly. Advertisers can now upload offline data from their CRM to supplement what the tag missed. When the system detects a tag-recorded conversion that lacks user-identifying information, it looks for a corresponding offline upload within a 24-hour window and merges the two records into a single enriched conversion event.
The beta also enables real-time conversion value adjustments. If your tag captures a cart total at checkout but that value changes due to returns, cancellations, or final fulfillment reconciliation, you can now upload the corrected value from your CRM to update the conversion record. This makes value-based bidding more accurate over time, since Smart Bidding optimizes on the final revenue figure rather than an estimated checkout total.

It is a new Google Ads feature (beta) that allows CRM offline data uploads to fill in missing user information, such as email and phone number, in tag-based conversion events. This improves enhanced conversion matching and gives Smart Bidding more accurate optimization signal.
Enhanced conversion match rates directly influence Smart Bidding. When more conversions are enriched with user data, tROAS and tCPA strategies can optimize more precisely. Brands that have connected CRM data to Google Data Manager have seen an average 26 percent incremental ROAS improvement in related measurement upgrades.
CRM data must be uploaded within 24 hours of the original conversion event for the enrichment to apply. Uploads outside this window will not merge with the existing tag-recorded conversion, which is why automated daily uploads from your CRM are required for consistent results.
Yes. The beta allows real-time conversion value corrections from CRM data, so if a checkout total changes due to returns or final fulfillment reconciliation, you can submit the corrected value. Value updates are disabled during the initial 14-day trial period after first enabling the feature.
